The Carriage
Like standard forklifts, the lifting attachment is able t be tilted from its horizontal position to forwards and backwards. The actual possible amount of tilt totally exceeds that of vertical mast lift trucks. There is a large range of lifting attachments offered, and this ability to position makes them as efficient as possible.
Nearly all telehandlers are capable of tilting forward to a point where the carriage is actually parallel with the ground believe it or not! Additionally, numerous units offer rotating carriages as well. This allows the operator to adjust the lifting attachment radially. This translates to the load being capable of being tilted forwards and backwards, and side to side.
Load Capacity
Knowing a telehandler's load capacity is a a lot different exercise than it is on a vertical mast unit. The capacity of the model is completely dependent on such things like: boom angle and extension, whether the unit is lifting on outriggers or on rubber tires, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. Additionally, which lifting attachment plays an important role, as does the wind, the grade the machinery is operating on et cetera. All of these specifics could be changing on a regular basis and this gives the operator a lot more information to think about.
Normally, telehandlers have several load charts available in order for the operator to reference so they can know the load capacity of a particular lift. Depending upon the model in particular and the configuration of the boom, the load capacity could differ by thousands of pounds all together.
