Narrow Aisle Forklift
A narrow aisle forklift is designed for lowering and lifting loaded pallets from high storage areas. This type is suitable for work environments with narrow spaces between aisles, like for example retail establishments or warehouses. The forklift has solid rubber, small tires that make maneuvering simple.
The operator of this type of forklift usually stands up in a small cockpit. The stand-up design enables the narrow aisle forklift to be as narrow ans short as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift normally has three tires: two in the front, and one in the rear. This design allows for fast and easy maneuvering. There are some models of these forklifts that come with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment is capable of pivoting to the sides, permitting the lift to be operated without the operator having to move the whole equipment. The sit-down model usually has four wheels.
An electric engine is used to power many narrow aisle forklifts. Electric-powered machines do not make exhaust fumes and are not noisy, making them the suitable alternative for closed areas like retail spaces. Several lifts come with a diesel engine or a gas engine. Nonetheless, the diesel version is not suggested for indoor application because it can produce exhaust and be noisy.
