Forklift Tire Specs
Since 1917, important tools used within commercial businesses and industry are forklifts. During its history the forklift has evolved through various kinds, from a simple tractor with a platform attachment to a particular high-tech machinery. Forklift tires have also changed into specialized tires, with various types designed to suit particular applications.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
A cushion tire is constructed of rubber or solid polyurethane and is best for indoor work on smooth surfaces. The cushion tire tread is pressed or binded onto the steel ring of the tire. Cushion tires are rated for various load capacities and for ease of steering. Cushion tires are commonly utilized in warehouse atmosphere.
Pneumatic Tires
Pneumatic forklift tires are filled with air or foam. They are offered in two types: bias or radial. Depending upon the use, they come with different sidewall protection, tread depths and weight. Pneumatic forklift tires that are filled with foam maintain constant pressures and are less susceptible to punctures. Pneumatic tires are normally used outdoors on surfaces that are rough and uneven.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
The comfortable ride that pneumatic tires provide together with the puncture resistance that solid tires provide are the combined features of Solid Pneumatic Hybrid Tires. They are a good alternative to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Big rubber tires, which can either be pneumatic, foam or solid, are used on wheel loader forklifts. These tires are best for moving and loading bulk things onto trucks or into processing equipment. Big flotation pneumatic tires are suited for masted rough terrain forklifts usually used at lumberyards, construction sites and auto recyclers.
