Operator Environment

Operators have an efficient and safe place to work from in the Spirit Delta cab. The particular design of the cab comes as a result of extensive study into the operators working conditions. The most important objective is to be able to offer optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and large glass areas unobstructed so as to keep the field of vision clear. The instrumental panel is ergonomically designed and is extremely comfortable and gently rounded. This area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all essential info, in order to keep the operator working as efficiently as possible.



Noise levels and vibration controls are kept low due to the insulated mounting on the chassis. To be able to maintain an optimal working position, the operator seat and hydraulic controls are all independently adjustable. In addition, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for maximum comfort. There are 2 simple to operate, ergonomically positioned multi-functioned levers that are offered for windscreen wipers, gear changing, the window washers and horn.



A ventilation/heating unit ensure a comfy cab temperature for the operator. The incoming air is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The equipment has a robust 3-speed fan for defrosting, recirculation, heating and cooling. As an additional option, air conditioning can be fitted.



Instrumentation

The instrument panel in the spirit delta cab has been logically grouped and are all accessible. The basic instruments that include: low brake pressure, high coolant temperature, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, applied parking brake and high gearbox oil temperature. In addition, gauges display values for operating time, fuel quantity, gearbox oil pressure and engine coolant.



The ECS or also called Electronic Control System monitoring is amongst the important options on the 8 to 10 tonne trucks. These units make it easier to supervise the equipment. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS and incorporated by this system. The full text display and the single warning lamp show any errors that happen and their current values.
