Narrow Aisle Lift trucks
Several forklifts are specially designed to fit down very narrow aisles in a warehouse. These models are referred to as narrow aisle forklifts. They can easily negotiate smaller aisles and allow you to enjoy several advantages. For instance, the increased amount of space to store stuff could really increase a company's overall available stock.
Narrow aisle forklifts can maneuver easily as well. These machinery have been specifically engineered to move without much space. Their different design has eliminated many of the things which are squished up into the main body of the conventional lift truck design.
These forklifts are really slow in comparison to standard forklifts that is one of their major disadvantages. If you need to transport items across huge areas, the narrow aisle forklift is not the best. In terms of speed they would not be a dependable alternative. If you also have a regular forklift, this will not be an issue. You can simply use the narrow aisle forklift to move the load to a central location and after that hand it off to a standard forklift that can travel the bulk of the distance in a timely and efficient manner. Commonly, narrow aisle forklifts cannot handle as much lifting weight; therefore, outside of smaller loads they will not be really helpful.
Electric Forklifts
For indoor operations such as stores or inside warehouses, conventional gas forklifts are not a suitable option. They will not be as safe due to their fumes, or as cost-efficient or useful compared to an electric powered unit. Electric lift trucks are usually engineered to function and look a lot like gas ones, but they use electric batteries which must be recharged, rather than gasoline fuel.
Electric forklifts are popular for a variety of reasons. For starters, they will save you lots of money on fuel costs. At first, electric models may cost more but over time, they make up for this in the long run. For instance, when gas prices increase, you will not be affected and would save a lot of cash. Electric models tend to last somewhat a bit longer compared to gas powered units too. This is partially due to the fact they are mainly utilized indoors and thus don't get as dirty or work in as harsh environments as the gas powered models. Electric models are healthier to utilize in poorly ventilated places such as indoor applications and warehouses as they don't emit noxious fumes. It could be extremely dangerous to utilize diesel or gas lift trucks inside.
The electric forklift does have several downsides like the fact that they can really only work for about 8 hours. Afterward the equipment will have to be charged for 8 hours and rested for another 8 hours. Numerous businesses get around this situation by buying a spare battery so they could have less downtime and continually cycle them. There are fast charge batteries available on the market that are also reducing the charging time.
