The telescopic lift truck will typically have a lengthened lift which uses a crane or arm to come over top of a truck. This style of forklift will allow you to lift loads higher and with greater control. This extra control is because of the fact that you are moving the cargo on the end of a crane, which is called a telescopic boom.
The load is also able to move both away from and towards the forklift cab too and this unique feature is something that basic forklifts could not do. The telescopic forklifts can offer both versatility and height. The telescopic forklift is super common in the construction and agricultural businesses. Additionally, they are an excellent choice in situations where you must work with something which requires more control that a regular lift truck.
Frame Tilt
A unique feature common to telehandlers is the frame tilt. Operators can activate the lateral controls in order to move the frame's angle from side to side. This particular frame can be moved 10 to 15 degrees in either direction from horizontal. There is a liquid filled tube which is curved and mounted in the cab. This is the frame tilt indicator or level indicator and works like a carpenter's level. It has a bubble indicator that indicates the lateral angle of the frame relative to the ground. This is an extremely handy device which is utilized to ensure the frame is level prior to raising the boom in rough environments.
Steering
Rear wheel steering is provided on some telehandler units, that is similar to a vertical mast type model. Most models provide 3 steering options which the operator may choose; crab, circle and front steering. For example, if the operator selects the "front" steering option, only the front wheels of the machine would react to the movement of the steering wheel.
